Neuroscience now validates why setting our children up for success has everything to do with authoritative or what we like to call it “just right” parenting.  Adult success (aka resilience, overcoming adversity, managing stress) as measured by health, income, wealth, healthy relationships and healthy babies is predicted by sleep, emotional regulation, self-control, conscientiousness and authoritative parenting.  Said differently, guiding children with parental support through “adversity”,  “mistakes”, and “failures” are the greatest learning opportunities for our children on how to overcome adversity and become resilient to meet life’s inevitable challenges.  Our role as parents is the most undervalued, underpaid, under taught and important job we have during our lifetime to set our children up for future success.  Working effectively together, parents can lay the foundation for a successful life for their children and generations to come.
