Sleep Disturbances

Our doctors specialize in ensuring that children experience restorative & quality sleep, so they can function at their best at home, in school, in extracurricular activities and with friends.  Restorative sleep is important for the entire family and can interfere with learning, managing frustration and friendships.  Poor sleep can cause trouble focusing, impulsivity, hyperactivity, anxiety, OCD, depression, and other chronic illnesses.

Common symptoms of underlying sleep disorders:

  • ​Difficulty falling asleep

  • More than 3 awakenings/night

  • Difficult to wake up in the morning

  • Less than 9-12 hours of overnight sleep (depending on age)
