Robin Martin, DO
Dr. Martin grew up on a farm in the Santa Cruz Mountains and had an atypical life path and education, including volunteering with the US Peace Corps implementing an HIV/AIDS awareness program in Zimbabwe, spending extended periods of time traveling the world, in the wilderness, and in monasteries exploring various forms of contemplative practice.
He has degrees in Cell/Molecular Biology and Chemistry from Humboldt State University. Prior to medical school he was a California Institute for Regenerative Medicine Research Scholar at Stanford University. Dr. Martin is a graduate of Touro University California where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and was chosen by his class to be the Student Speaker at Commencement. Dr. Martin completed his General Psychiatry Residency at the University of Hawaii where he was the recipient of the Outstanding Resident Research Award for his work developing ketamine assisted therapies.
His practice philosophy incorporates a bio/psycho/social/spiritual model of achieving optimum health and actualizing peak potential through judicious use of medication, multimodal and collaborative modalities including somatic therapies, neuromodulation, ketamine assisted psychotherapy, and mind/body practices.
Dr. Martin is grateful to continue supporting the people of Hawaii with the Kahala Clinic for Children and Family.
