Early Childhood Development

We specialize in prevention and early intervention for infants, toddlers and young children who are showing signs of lagging or problematic emotional-behavioral regulation and language development. Identifying and treating early onset symptoms is important for development.

18-36 months

  • ​Demands attention & company (unable to tolerate brief separations, solo play)

  • Overweight/obesity

  • Sleep problems (night terrors, frequent awakenings, less than 11 hours of overnight sleep)

  • Eating/feeing problems (including picky eaters)

  • Persistent tantrums outside the home

  • Persistent tantrums with non-parental caregivers/adults

  • Parents worried, stressed, and/or overwhelmed

  • Language & communication concerns

3-5 years old

  • Tantrums outside the home and/or with adults other than parents

  • Demands attention & company

  • Cries for food, toys, electronics

  • Sleep problems (night terrors, more than 3 awakenings/night, less than 10 hours of overnight sleep, needs help to fall asleep)

  • Overweight/obesity

  • Eating/feeding problems (including picky eaters)

  • Behavioral problems at school/daycare

  • Persistent difficulty separating from parents

  • Parents worried, stressed, and/or overwhelmed

  • Language & communication concerns

5-8 years old

  • Tantrums

  • Demands attention & company

  • Cries for toys, electronics

  • Behavior problems at school

  • Difficulty making friends

  • Sleep problems (frequent awakenings, night terrors, nightmares, needs help falling asleep, less than 9 hours of overnight sleep)

  • Overweight/obesity

  • Parents worried, stressed, and/or overwhelmed

  • Language, communication and learning concerns
