Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) is a unique therapeutic method used to address a variety of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, chronic pain, certain forms of substance use disorders and other addictions, and existential or psycho/spiritual distress. KAP utilizes ketamine in the psychedelic dosing range in a supportive and safe environment attended by clinicians who have been trained in this modality. Ketamine is thought to work by stimulating synaptogenesis (new connections between neurons), disrupt ruminative thinking, and reorganize brain DMN (default mode network) signalling. This can be experienced as new insights or perspectives, reduced cravings, relief from depression or anxiety, a deeper or rediscovered sense of meaning and purpose, and a sense of connection and harmony with the people and world around us.

"Our teen struggled with depression and anxiety for years. They tried several different rounds and types of medication, ECT (electriconvulsive therapy), TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), residential treatment, PHP (partial hospital programs), and extensive talk therapy. The greatest difference in their mood and general wellbeing came after they started Ketamine treatments. It was like a heaviness lifted off of them, and they were able to improve every facet of their lives. Our entire family is deeply grateful to Dr. Martin and his team, for working with us with Ketamine treatments."
